**How can art and culture help reshape our understanding of ownership? ****

Starting from an understanding that ‘ownership’ is one of the underlying (and surprisingly under-examined) power dynamics of our times, the first Beyond Cultures of Ownership gathering kicked off with a day-long exploration of how art and culture can offer vectors for intervening into the structures of ownership in creative and experimental ways. By bringing together a group of highly motivated and visionary artists, activists, technologists, policy-makers and researchers, the goal was to set the foundation for a growing community that enables transformative ideas and practices about value, mutualism, and power-sharing to evolve and come to life.

Agenda

By running the day in (un)conference style, we are inviting you to collectively create a space for sharing and deep exchanges. Following a set of inspiring provocations in the morning by Indy Johar, Hilary Cottam, Divya Siddarth, Sam Sivapragasam, and Danielle Brathwaite-Shirley, we will spend most of the day in self-organised break-out groups, sharing and connecting on the things that you are most passionate about. There is no need to prepare – we are simply asking for your maximum presence, openness and initiative on the day! We will close the day with reflections and a fireside chat with Adrienne Buller, Holly Herndon and Mat Dryhurst, and invite everyone to join us for pizza and drinks hosted by our friends at Reference Point next door.
