Serpentine’s Future Art Ecosystems and Alias Studio are excited to announce an open call for creative practitioners interested in exploring generative AI by training their own image generation models on the Alias Studio platform (available at https://alias.studio). Alias’ mission is to empower artists, enabling creative engagement with technology while maintaining control over their intellectual property and offering innovative ways to monetise their work in the generative AI age.
The selected artists will receive:
- Technical support with the model training process.
- 5,000 free Alias credits to further experiment and create within alias.studio.
- A featured story in Serpentine Arts Technologies newsletter upon the completion of the project.
- Visibility across the Alias platform, including a video interview and a written feature on Alias’ social channels.
- An online art exhibition space (on Alias.studio) where visitors can interact with the artists’ models and generate new artworks in real-time, purchase digital collectibles or licenses for the use of these artworks.
- A fee of £600
Application process:
- Submit an application to [email protected] by
28 February 2025 Friday 7 March 2025, including the following:
- A 300-400 word motivation letter offering an overview of your practice, your experience working with AI, and your interest in this opportunity.
- A link to your portfolio or information about your practice, in particular references to the works/data that you’d like to use for training your own Alias.
- (optional) A link to your account on https://alias.studio if you have made one.
- By mid-March, we will select three creative practitioners who will be offered access to the AI-model training platform and be supported in experimenting with your Aliases. The selected practitioners will also be supported in exploring the new revenue streams provided by the Alias platform, as well as the new engagement strategies for their audience or fans.
We are particularly interested in applications from creative practitioners who are:
- looking to experiment with new workflows and techniques
- excited to explore Alias to enact conceptual ideas in their practice
- interested in new models for marketing and monetising their work
